Planet Green's 927% Moonshot Leads a Tuesday Tape Split Between Hype and Hard Numbers

Tuesday's gainers list read like two different markets sharing one ticker feed. At the top sat Planet Green Holdings Corp. (NYSE American: PLAG), which closed up 927.05% at $5.81, lifting its market value to roughly $82.7 million, according to StockAnalysis data — the largest gain of any US-listed stock on a day when the S&P 500, Nasdaq and Dow each slipped about 0.3%.
The catalysts were a pair of announcements from a company in the middle of reinventing itself. Planet Green's Shanghai Shuning Advertising subsidiary signed a multi-year agreement to act as primary digital marketing agency in China for AI company iFLYTEK, handling market research, campaign creation, media placement and data optimization through the end of 2026, according to StocksToTrade's coverage. Separately, the company said it has begun commercial operations sourcing and distributing lactoferrin, a milk-derived protein used in infant formula and supplements, targeting a global market TipRanks reported at roughly $300 million today with projections toward $500 million by 2030.
The fine print is considerably less exuberant than the chart. Planet Green generates only about $3.0 million in revenue, carries negative equity and a current ratio below one, and its auditor expressed substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern in a May disclosure, per TipRanks and StocksToTrade. The company also signed an at-the-market sales agreement in July — a mechanism that lets it sell new shares into exactly this kind of rally, with dilution as the cost. StocksToTrade characterized the stock as a high-risk, event-driven story in which news flow, not fundamentals, sets the price.
The session's other standouts earned their moves the conventional way. Neuronetics Inc. (Nasdaq: STIM), the Malvern, Pennsylvania medical-technology company behind the NeuroStar depression-treatment system and the Greenbrook clinic network, closed up 47% at $3.19 — a market value near $222 million — after second-quarter results beat expectations, per StockAnalysis and Investing.com. Revenue of $41.6 million topped the $40.1 million consensus, the adjusted loss of $0.05 per share came in well ahead of the expected $0.12 loss, and adjusted EBITDA swung to a positive $0.3 million from a $5.6 million loss a year earlier. Management guided full-year revenue to $160 million to $164 million and called the quarter one of 'real operational progress' toward sustained profitability, per Investing.com.
Team Inc. (NYSE: TISI), a $104 million provider of industrial inspection and mechanical services, jumped 37.22% to $22.71 following its Monday-evening second-quarter release. The quarter itself was soft — revenue fell 8.3% to $228.7 million and the net loss widened to $6.8 million, per the company's release distributed by GlobeNewswire — but full-year guidance pointed the other way, with adjusted EBITDA projected at $68 million to $73 million, up 16% at the midpoint, supported by a structural cost-reduction program targeting $20 million to $35 million in run-rate savings.
Further down the list, the purely speculative tier stayed busy. WF International Limited (WXM), a company valued below $9 million, nearly doubled with a 97.5% gain to $7.90, and Masonglory Limited (MSGY), at a $7.3 million market value, rose 48.23%, per StockAnalysis — moves in names small enough that modest order flow can produce outsized percentage swings, with or without news.
The juxtaposition is the lesson. Neuronetics and Team rose on audited numbers and raised outlooks; Planet Green rose ten-fold on announcements from a company its own auditor doubts can continue operating without new capital. Both kinds of moves are real money on the day. The historical record in the micro-cap tier is clear about which kind tends to still be there a quarter later — and Planet Green's fresh at-the-market facility means the supply of new shares may arrive faster than the next catalyst.
